- HLSC 4023 Emergency Medical Care II: Final phase of training that emphasizes life threatening emergencies, childbirth and problems of child patients, environmental emergencies, extrication from automobiles and all operational aspects of the emergency vehicle. Also included will be 15 hours of hospital emergency room and ambulance experience. Corequisite: HLSC 4021L.
- HLSC 404V Comm Health Preceptorship: Designed to provide the student with an extended work experience in a selected community health program. The student works under college supervision with a professional in the health care delivery field. Prerequisite: Senior standing.
- HLSC 4603 Application of Health Behavior Theories in Health Education: Understanding the reasons for health behavior is vital for the health education professional. It is necessary to assist in the development of services and programs that are likely to move an individual from an unhealthy behavior to one that is more appropriate for a healthy lifestyle. This course surveys the major health behavior theories used in health education and applications of the theories will be used in the class.
- HLSC 4613 Principle of Epidemiology: Distribution and patterns of disease or physiological conditions within populations; an examination of the nature of epidemiological research. Prerequisite: Senior standing and BIOL 2013 and BIOL 2011L.

- HLSC 6333 Health Behavior Research: A review of human behavior and its relationship to health and well being. Focuses on contemporary health behavior research and instrumentation.
- HLSC 6443 Health Care Cross Culture Settings: The relationship of socio-political and cultural factors to primary health care and public health in developed and developing countries is emphasized. Epidemiological factors influencing health status in various countries are reviewed.

Health communication theory will be discussed in the first part of the semester, followed by important research in the area of health communication, and finally putting to practice the material will be the terminal experience for the course.
